Stovetop Instructions: Combine in 3-quart saucepan 2 cups water, 1 cup uncooked rice and if desired, 1 tablespoon butter or oil and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Bring to boil. Turn heat down low and cover with a lid. Simmer 45-50 minutes, or until all water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve. Note: For high altitudes, use slightly more water and allow 5 minutes longer cooking time. Store in a cool, dry place.
